Drew Baldridge is one of the few who has made history in his field. His single "She's Somebody's Daughter" climbed to No. 1 on the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart, becoming the first self-released debut single to achieve this milestone. This accomplishment not only boosted Baldridge's career but also inspires others to believe that dreams can come true. To promote "She's Somebody's Daughter," Baldridge started his own label and funded the release himself. “I would wake up at 3 a.m., look at my wife and son, and question my investment,” he recalls. However, his efforts paid off as the song steadily gained popularity after its release in 2019. Baldridge wrote the ballad after meeting his wife’s father, and it became a wedding version for them to dance to. In 2021, while on his honeymoon, he posted the wedding version on TikTok, promising its release if it garnered enough attention. By the next morning, the video had nearly 10 million views and led to a significant increase in his followers. The song sparked a “daughter trend” on TikTok, with numerous heartfelt videos shared by fathers and daughters. Unfortunately, the indie label he was signed to folded, leaving him without a manager or agent. Undeterred, he launched his own Lyric Ridge label. He began managing himself and booking shows while “She’s Somebody's Daughter” continued to gain traction, with many dads sharing emotional reactions online. Growing up in Patoka, IL, Baldridge was influenced by country music, especially by Alabama’s "Born Country." “That song resonated with me,” he says. “I feel very blessed, and I love that success brings those around you along for the ride. It’s a beautiful thing.”
